• Ajanta Orpat Group founder Odhavji Patel was born into a Gujarati family and wanted to become a
pilot and was not get supported by their family in pursuing their dreams. As the years passed he realized
their source were limited as he had raise six children which made him to do something big considering
this he interacted with various people in Morbi where where he came to know that some of then wanted
to start clock manufacturing business.
• in 1971, he and his few partners pooled in Rs 1 lakh and started ajanta transistor clock manufacturing
company from a small rented premises and now the rest is history.
 JOURNEY
• 1971 The company was incorporated and thus started its
tryst with manufacturing of wall clocks.

• 1989 Its history dates back to this year when it

first started with the manufacturing of
wristwatches under the flagship brand
name Ajanta Quartz.
• 2002 It was renamed as Ajanta India Limited
and it branched into the manufacture of
FMCG products.

• 2006 The company forayed into electronics market

with products ranging from DVD players and
LCD monitors to laptops
 Ajanta introduced its first Electric Emergency Light into the
• 2009 market and made its first venture in the LED segment with
the LED Bulb

Other LED lighting products were offered like the LED

Flood Light, LED Street Light, LED Panel Light, LED Down
• 2012 Light and LED Tube Light in India.

Ajanta entered Fan business with innovative designs and

• 2019 excellent finishes having numerous types of fans
including Farata Fan, Ceiling Fan & Exhaust Fan

Ajanta started manufacturing of Home Appliances with

• 2020 various products like Dry Iron.
