Life Cycle

Life Cycle
Life cycle is a health application that tracks times and locations and categorizes
them into donuts. These donuts provide insights on how I spend my days and
where all my time goes.

I would recommend this app to everyone. It is very helpful. It does not require a lot
of effort because the information is automatically inputted in for you. It does not
use a lot of your phones battery life. It helps figure out where your time goes and
from there you can decide how you actually want to spend it. It can be used as a
diary also. It helps you create a routine of how you actually want to spend your
time. There also is a monthly subscription but it is only ten dollars a month.
This app did not take too much time out of my day. Once a
week or once a once a month I would get notification saying
“Your weekly donut is complete” or “Your monthly donut is
complete”. The donut contains all the events I have done
and how much time I have spent on them throughout the
whole week. For example, it will say for the week of
November 17-23 I have walked 33,722 steps and it will
contain all the events I have done for that week. It will time
the things I have done for the first time, ongoing habits,
everyday balances, work, exercise, notes, and if it was not
sure of my location it will asked what I did at that certain time
and place. For the first times it will say that I have visited
three new locations this week and have them pinned on a
map. For ongoing habit an example is, “You spent more time
on Hanging out with friends than you usually do, 1 day and
15 hours. Your average is around 19 hours” for the week.
The images above are screenshots from the app life cycle. These
images are located under my donut during the months of October and
November. The first picture is a screenshot of my lunch habits during
the month of October. It said I have visited seven unique restaurants. It
also gives me the amount of visits I have had at each certain restaurant
and the amount of time i spent there. The second screenshot is
Photographs during the month of October. It said I had taken a total of
28 photos and also included the most popular places i take photos at.
The third screenshot included the amount of time I have spent at home
and the amount of sleep I had during the week of November 3-9.
Do I think my health improved?
Yes I do think my health improved. Before I started to use this app I had poor time
management skills. I used to waste a lot of my time and i did not realize it before. I
also used to not walk as much but now that I am able to track my steps everyday, I
try to beat my amount of steps every week. I used to go out a lot and ignore my
responsibilities and i noticed how much of an unhealthy habit it was. I started to
stay home more and the app would track this for me. The app would say “You were
at home more than usual, around 86 hours compared to your average of 75 hours”.
After using this app, I was able to change my habits for the better. My sleep also
got better I believe because I was able to have a better mindset and have less
anxiety.
What I enjoyed and what I would change
Overall, I enjoyed this app. It has been very helpful for me and my daily life. I
enjoyed almost every aspect of this app. My favorite part is how it tracks
everything automatically and it does not require too much effort. I enjoyed looking
at the statistics of how I spend my time, exercise, work habits, sleep habits, and my
everyday balances. I also enjoyed how you can use this app as a diary. You are able
to put in notes and add pictures. I think that just makes it more personal and a safe
place for yourself. There is not much I would change. I think I would change the
subscription fee and make the app completely free because it is a great app and
everyone should be able to have access to it.
Would I use this app over a long period of
time?
Yes I would use this app over a long period of time. Even though this project is over
I am going to continue to use the app. I tried to use the sleep cycle app which
tracks the amount of sleep you get every night. This app was too much of a hassle
to keep inputting the information. Life cycle was easy because it computed it for
me.
