NOISE POLLUTION
WHAT IS SOUND?
 Sound is everything that we hear.
 Anything capable of vibration and sending out
single or multiple frequencies can produce a
‘Sound’.
WHAT IS NOISE?
 Noise is unwanted sound judged to be unpleasant,
loud or disruptive to hearing.
 The unbearable volume or voice or sound that is
not suitable for human ear.
WHAT IS NOISE POLLUTION?
  Noise pollution or sound pollution refers to the
presence of excessive and disturbing noise (from
machines, transportation systems, aircrafts, trains,
etc) in the environment that is very harmful to the
physical and mental health of the living beings on
earth.
SOURCES OF NOISE POLLUTION
 Transportation systems
 Construction of buildings, highways, and streets.
 Bulldozers,digging machines,etc
 Vehicle horn,noise from silenecer of a bike,etc

 INDUSTRIAL NOISE:-
 Loud speakers, plumbing, boilers, generators.
 air conditioners, fans, and vacuum cleaners.

 HOUSEHOLD SOURCES:-
 Food Mixer,Grinder
 Vacuum Cleaner
 Washing machine and Dryer
 Air Conditioner,Straighter and curlers
 Cooler
 Loud speaker
 Neighbor's Barking Dog
EFFECTS OF NOISE POLLUTION ON HUMANS

 Chronic exposure to noise may cause noise-


induced hearing loss. Older males exposed to
significant occupational noise demonstrate
significantly reduced hearing sensitivity than
their non-exposed peers .
