Maratua Island is the outer island of Indonesia which is located in the Celebes Sea and
borders Malaysia. Maratua Island is part of the government territory of Berau Regency, East
Kalimantan province. This small, long and curved island is located in the south of Tarakan
City with coordinates 2 ° 15'12 ″ N, 118 ° 38'41 ″ East Longitude (at the outer boundary). On
this island, there are Lake Haji Buang and Lake Tanah Bamban.

Maratua Island has natural beauty and extraordinary underwater. Divers like to find
paradise and this island is touted as the Maldives of Indonesia. Not only that, the
underwater beauty of Maratua Island is stunning. Beautiful coral reefs of the fringing reef
type, dominated by seagrass beds with the Halodule Uninervis species of various types of
fish also accompany tourists who go diving.

No wonder many divers say it is a diver's paradise. Maratua Island has many diving
spots, including Jetty Dive, Turtle Traffic, Mid Reef, Eel Garden, Hanging Garden,
Cabbage Garden, and The Channel spot.

Apart from being a marine tourism, since 2015 Maratua also has an annual event, namely
the Maratua Jazz and Dive Fiesta which is the idea of ​WartaJazz - a Jazz ecosystem in
