– Coronavirus belongs to the virus family -Coronaviridae

– Coronaviridae consists of single stranded RNA (ribonucleic


acid) viruses.

– Usually affects Mammals & Birds

– Has crown-like appearance under an electron microscope
due to the presence of spikes on their surface.

– In Latin, corona means crown
