 The essay is assessed based on impression.
 The essay should be original.
 The essay must not touch on sensitive issues.
 If the essay does not meet the required number of words, the essay will be
graded a band lower.

 ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKETCH
COMPETITION (Primary)
TAKE HOME POINTS
1. Theme : Open (Themes reflecting positive messages and values )
2. From year 4 to year 6 only. Year 3 pupils are allowed (if SKM)
3. Time : 7 minutes to 10 minutes
4. Numbers : Maximum of 10 participants (including the technical crew:
stage manager, technical coordinator, set and prop assistant,
prompter) and two teachers-in-charge.
5. All team members must be from the same school.
6. Participating teams are encouraged to produce their own scripts.
Scripts or translated scripts of established plays must be adapted and
cited.
7. Sketch scripts must include synopses and cast lists and be typed
using Font 12 Times New Roman on A4 paper.
8. The use of sets and props should be minimised. Virtual props /
Computer Generated Images (CGI) are not allowed
9. The timing of the presentation starts with the first movement, first
word uttered by the actor(s) or any sound effects. Marks will be
deducted thereafter.
 *Recording and Submission

 The actors must be recorded separately and merged for the final
video. Face to face interaction is prohibited as per SOP given by
MOE.
 It is encouraged that the majority of the team members act and
speak.
 It is compulsory to use English language throughout the sketch
performance. Nevertheless, limited use of certain local
Malaysian registers is allowed.
 The submitted recording must be in landscape.
 Usage of DSLR or Video Cameras to shoot the video is
encouraged. Videos shot must be at least of HD Quality at
1080x780 resolution.
 Videos should be uploaded on YouTube and set as unlisted.
Link to the video will be submitted to the organizer via suitable
means. (i.e. Google Form)

Judging is based on these criteria:-

 Creativity of Sketch = 35 %
 Language = 30 %
 Overall Coordination & Performance = 25 %
 Positive Values / Message(s) = 10 %
Total 100%
