At the end of the course: The students are expected to create their own poem applying the Elements of
Poetry

III. Skills to Develop:


Broad Skill: Develop critical thinking and creativity skills in applying the elements of poetry in their own
composition. Appreciate literary devices used in writing poetry.

V. Activity

MECHANICS OF THE TASK

Goal: As a group, you need to discuss the concepts in Days in Days 5, 6 and 7 Elements of Poetry (Sound Devices,
Mode & Tone and Theme). Based on these, you will create your own poem applying the elements of poetry being
highlighted. Afterwards, you will label which among the lines of the poem contains a specific element.
Role: Your role is to become poets in today’s generation. As a group, you will choose 1 among the following topics to be
the basis of the poem that you will be writing. The poem must be in 3 stanzas with 4 lines in each stanza.

a. Experience in F2F Classes after Flex Learning


b. Life as Senior High Student During Pandemic
c. My Strand so Far
Audience: Your audience are the students of your age and generation. The poem that you will be creating will give them an
idea to their future endeavors.

Situation: You and your group are assigned to take part of a poem exhibition which showcases different poem composition
around the city. This exhibit is open for all, particularly to students. Through this, the Point of View of a Millennial Senior High
will be known to many thus opening doors to awareness on relevant issues in your generation.

Product/Performance and Purpose: In a 3-stanza (4 lines each stanza) poem. You need to follow these mechanics:

1. The poem MUST BE AN ORIGINAL COMPOSITION applying the elements of poetry in Days 5,6
and 7
2. The poem must be in 3 stanzas having 4 lines in each stanza
3. The poem must be anchored on the following concept (Choose only One)
a. Experience in F2F Classes after Flex Learning
b. Life as Senior High Student During Pandemic
c. My Strand so Far
4. You have to highlight and identify the lines that uses/applies the element of Poetry
5. You can design your final output in any way that you like as long as it is appropriate to the theme of
your poem. You may encode, use any application that you see fit (e.g. Canva)
6. You have to make sure that the words of the poem are clear (Font size is big) so that it can be read
easily
7. Submit your final output to your Google Classroom under “Check” for your 1 st Performance Task
8. Make sure to indicate ALL the names of the Group Members
9. Submit ON or BEFORE the deadline.
