02 ZOMATO , ITS SERVICES AND EFFECTS DURING PANDEMIC

Zomato could be a international eating house someone and food delivery company. it had been supported by Deepinder
Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah in Gurgaon in 2008. Its initial name was “Foodiebay”. the corporate was renamed Zomato in
2010. Zomato provides data, menus, and user reviews of restaurants similarly as food delivery choices from partner
restaurants in choose cities.

Zomato provides many services such as -

3. Provides the rate of a particular food you have searched.

DURING THE LOCKDOWN ZOMATO COULD NOT DELIVER ITS ORDERS TO

CUSTOMERS , AND THE WORKERS , DELIVERY PARTNERS FACED A HUGE
FINANCIAL LOSS.

BACHELORS, HOSTLERS AND PEOPLE LIVING ALONE FIND IT DFFICULT AS THEY

DONT KNOIW TO COOK AND THEY ARE ONLY DEPENDENT ON FOOD DELIVERY
COMPANIES SUCH AS ZOMATO .

LOCKDOWN MADE MANY PEOPLE TO STARVE , AS THE FOOD WILL NOT BE

DELIVERD AND PEOPLE ALSO CANNOT GO OUT AND BUY THEIR FOOD.

MOST OF THE PEOPLE WORKING IN ZOMATO ARE 90% OF THEM ARE

ENGINERING GRADUATES , WHO HAVE FINISHED ENGINERING AND THEY ARE
WORKING AS FULL TIME IN ZOMATO AND THEY ARE NOT GETTING THEIR
REMUNERATION PROPERLY
REPORT SAYS THAT MOST OF THE ENGINERING STUDENTS ARE
WORKING UNDER ZOMATO IN CHENNAI.

Coronavirus update: With no dine-in services and big drop in online

orders the restaurant industry has been severely impacted due to the
pandemic
 Restaurants have taken a severe beating since the outbreak of coronavirus. By extension
food delivery platforms such as Swiggy and Zomato -- functioning -- have also taken a
big hit. Orders on Swiggy and Zomato have dropped 60 per cent due to the pandemic.

 While both the platforms are operational, they are working with minimal delivery
executives and restaurant partners. In some parts of the country, delivery partners have
refused to step out fearing police action, as mentioned in a report in The Economic
Times.

 Kitchens are also facing difficulty in procuring supplies, forcing a lot of them to shut
shop,with no dine-in services and big drop in online orders the restaurant industry has
been severely impacted.
 Anurag Katriar, President of National Restaurant Association of India told the daily that 95
per cent of restaurants are offline. He added that the staff can't be put in risk and that supply
also is not very smooth. Some have been forced to shut due to the shortage of staff and
supplies.

 "There has been a short-term impact in terms of softening in volumes which can be attributed
to the shortage of supply due to temporary closure of many high-volume restaurants located
in malls and disruptions on-ground across certain states,"

 Food delivery executives are also facing challenges due to local authorities and policemen
while delivering. While food delivery services have been termed as essential, local authorities
in many parts of the country have misinterpreted the order.

Zomato that is operating at 30 per cent is also facing challenges while delivering orders. CEO
Deepinder Goyal told the daily that they are currently working with the authorities to sort out the
matter.

• Up to 20 oxygen-generating plants

• Beyond grieving for colleagues lost to COVID-19, Flipkart stands with their families. The new Family
Support Policy for India extends additional support for the families and dependents of Flipkart
employees who have lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Flipkart has also introduced a first-of-its-kind unlimited medical insurance cover for employees,
thereby fully covering all medical expenses and cost of hospitalization, without employees paying any
premium for it.

• Additional support measures for families, apart from existing provisions, have been introduced. These
include life insurance cover, education support, medical insurance cover and financial planning
assistance.
