Background of the study

Statement of the problem
1. What is the profile of the respondents?
1.1 age
1.2 sex
2. Are there physically malnourished children at the Barangay San Julian
Norte?
3. What are the factors affects Malnutrition at the Barangay ?
4. Does the Barangay Captain and Barangay Officials show concerned with the
nutritional status of the children?
5. What are the effects of Lack of Knowledge about proper nutrition among
these children in the following aspects?
a. Physical
b. Social
c. Mental/psychological
Hypothesis

1.Malnutrition only affects children physically.


2. There are no relevant factors that affect nutritional
status of the children.
3.The Barangay Captain and Barangay Officials are
not less concerned with the nutritional status of the
children.
4.The Knowledge will elevate the standard of living of
the people.

Scope and Delimitation

 Mainly focus on malnourished children, including


their parents and Barangay officials
 San Julian Norte, Agoo La Union
Methodology
 Quantitative research design will be used
 Thisstudy was a Descriptive Cross sectional
methods
 The researchers uses Convenience Sampling
methods
 The target respondents of this research study is
the children in Barangay San Julian Norte, Agoo,
La Union
 The research instrument used is the questionnaire,
which has 15 questions that children will answer,
and we also interview the parents and barangay
officials to identify the factors affecting malnutrition
to the children. 
 
 After the response or data collected was analyzed,
we use the percentage in statistical techniques,
wherein the researchers calculate by getting the
frequency divided by the total number of
respondents and multiplying by one hundred. Korb
(2013).

Conclusion
 Mostrespondents in the Barangay San Julian Norte participated were 4-6
years old. 
 Mostly
the respondents in the Barangay were female which had 60%
compared for males has 40% who participated  
 The majority of the children aged 4 to 15 years old in the barangay of San
Julian Norte are malnourished. 23 out of 40 were malnourished, which is a
negative sign for the nutrition status of the children in the Barangay of San
Julian Norte. 
 Lowincome or poverty is the major factor that leads to children's
malnutrition or unhealthy status.
 Thebarangay officials of the barangay of San Julian Norte are very
concerned about improving the health status of the children in San Julian
Norte by providing development programs that is related to health.
