Technology

&
Writing
Objective:
Discuss the
relationship of
technology to
writing in
today’s world.
Pre-writing and Drafting
● Visually organizing their writing
● Synthesis ( relating different
concepts)
● Reverse-outlining an existing draft
to understand how the pieces fit
together
● Digitally allows for easier
movement, erasing, and re-doing
than with pen and paper
● No constraints of paper size —
maps can go wherever students take
them
Examples of Technology:

● MindMup
● Bubbl.us
● Lucidchart
● Kidspiration
● Microsoft Evernote
● Google Docs
● Microsoft Word
Revising and Proofreading

● Support students to correct their spelling

● Find synonyms to improve their
vocabulary
● Spell-checkers can predict the word
students are trying to spell as they type,
therefore offering instant feedback as well
as more accurate suggestions to correct
misspelled words.
Publishing

● Collaboration tools allow students to post

their work, read others’ work, and to share
constructive feedback with each other.
● Educators can guide student feedback with
prompts.
● Digital portfolios allows students to post,
organize, and share their work as well as
reflect.
Benefits of Using Technology for Writing

● Technology complements teachers
● Improves research skills
● Encourages creativity
● Speeds up revisions
● Technology saves time
● Inspires collaboration

Mistoks are a part of life som are quickly forgotten and some loave a mark One single
error in the spellings of a word con change the whole meaning to it For example, there are
word like "peace" and "plece with the same pronunciation but with entirely diferent
meaning. These mistakes, of course, are not noticed when you are speaking because they
sounde the same but writing piece instead of peece is concidered a blunder. There can be a
number of things you need to think about besids vocabulary which includes gramer,
spellings, and tenses
