Maglalatik
• Maglalatik is a Filipino folk dance
that means”latik-maker”.
Maglalatik
• This dance originated in the town of Biñan,
Laguna. And is performed as a part of
religious procession, moving along the
streets.
Maglalatik
• It is carried out by male dancers while
holding coconut shell haves.
Maglalatik is a four part mock war dance
between the Moros and the Christians
fighting over the prized latik.

How is it performed?
• The dance is performed by hittng the coconut
shells by one another or by thyself. The dance
involves great skill of the dancer with fast and
tough movements.
Music
• The original music for this dnce is composed by
Dr. Francisco Santiago, from the sound produced
by two bamboos with guitar..

• The sound of the tapping of the coconut shells.
