in each of Bernardians.

after having exited from the institution.

 WHAT IS CWTS?
• The CWTS or Civic Welfare Training Service is a program introduced exclusively
for college students.

• The CWTS is geared towards the activities that promotes health, education,
environment, and morals.

• The CWTS aims to increase the number of citizens that enlist in Armed Forces.

• The NSTP is established on 2001.

 PURPOSE OF CWTS
• To provide equality education and provide
knowledge and skills and about public service.

• To increase sense of nationalism and comradery

• RA 9163 – An act establishing the
SUPPORTS CWTS
National Service Training Program
(NSTP) for tertiary level students.
• SECTION 1. Short Title – This Act
shall be known as the “National Service
Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2001”
• SECTION 2 : Declaration of policy
recognizing the youth’s vital role in
nation-building.
• SECTION 3. Definition of Terms – For
purpose of this act, the following are hereby
defined as follows:
⚬ National Service Training Program
⚬ Reserve-Officers Training Program
⚬ Literacy Training Service
⚬ Civic Welfare Training Service
⚬ Program Component
 LAWS THAT
• CHED, TESDA, DND, PASUC, COCOPEA, and other agencies may design and implement such other

program components as may be necessary in consonance with the provisions of this Act.

• SECTION V. Coverage – Students, male and female, of any baccalaureate course or at least two (2) year
technical-vocational courses in public and private educational institutions shall be required to complete
one (1) of the NSTP components as requisite for graduation.

• SECTION VI. Duration and Equivalent Course Unit – Each NSTP program components shall be two (2)
semester.

• SECTION VIII. Fees and Incentives – Higher and technical-vocational, shall not be more than fifty
percent (50%) of what is currently charged by schools per unit

preparedness.

⚬ The NSTP provides a set of skill enhancement activities that amends th RA

9163.

⚬ The RA 9163 requires the tertiary level students to undergo atleast one (1)
component of NSTP.
