The document discusses scope and delimitation of studies. It provides examples of components to include in a scope and delimitation section such as the topic, objectives, timeframe, location, participants and methods. It explains that the scope specifies what will be covered, while the delimitation cites what won't be included. Limitations refer to unplanned restrictions identified during the study, whereas delimitations are the planned boundaries set before the study begins. The document provides guidance on writing an effective scope and delimitation section for a research study.

MODULE 2 LESSON 5 SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY PRACTICAL RESEARCH 2: MODULE 2 LESSON 5 OBJECTIVES
At the end of the class, the learners are:
1. To define (1)scope and (2) delimitation, 2. To identify the scope and delimitation of a study, 3. To differentiate delimitation from limitation, and 4. To write their Scope and Delimitation of their study. SAMPLE SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF A STUDY
The main objective of this study is to provide information
about students’ knowledge and perception of genetically modified foods and their family health practices. The study also includes the student’s personal information and occupation of their parents and siblings. This study is limited to the 120 Grade 12 Male and Female enrolled in the First Semester, School Year 2019-2020 of Gusa Regional Science High School – X. Each of the respondents is given questionnaire to answer. The students selected came from six different sections to prevent subjective perceptions. SAMPLE SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF A STUDY
1. Topic of the Study.
2. Objective of the study or problems to be addressed. 3. Time frame in which the study will be conducted. 4. The locale or area where the study will be conducted. 5. Characteristics of the participants of the study. 6. Other parameters. S C O P E A N D D E L I M I TAT I O N
The scope specifies the coverage of your study
such as variables, population or participant, and timeline. Delimitation cites factors of your study that are not included or excluded or those you will not deal in your study. There are two types of scope: inclusive and exclusive.
• Inclusive Scope means that everything that falls within the defined boundaries will be included in the research. • Exclusive Scope means that only those things that are specifically mentioned will be included in the research. The delimitation of the study describes the various
limitations that arose during the design and conduct of the study. Along the way of conducting your study, you will encounter limitations which you have not drawn before you start – these are the delimitations of study. Most of the delimitations arose from the applicability or usefulness of the findings of the study to the current problem. D E L I M I TAT I O N V S . L I M I TAT I O N
Variables not included in your study are also
determined by delimitation of your study. While on the other hand, limitation of the study are those variables included in your study. Hence, limitation of the study is actually the identified scope of the study. S C O P E A N D D E L I M I TAT I O N Read the following scope and delimitation about a research on sickness prevention. Try to improve its structure and coverage. You can add some details in revising this research section. Sample Scope and Delimitation The current focuses on the relationship between socio-demographic background of the family and their heath practices. Only 60 Grade 11 students were considered in this study as respondents. The research lasted for two months. LEARNING CHECK!
1.I have learned that scope is_____________.
2.I have learned that delimitation is ___________. 3.Delimitation is _____ while Limitation is _______.
