PHOTOGRAPHY ESSAY CONTEST

THEME: “ Integrating Science and Technology Through Catechism Toward Sustainable Future In Christ”
I: OBJECTIVES
A. To show their support about environmental care and promoting sustainable development to reduce disaster risk through photo essay.

B. To demonstrate their creativity and critical skills about taking care of environment and promoting sustainable development.
Rules and Guidelines

● Each contestant must submit only one (1)

photo entry. SUBJECT OF PHOTO (per year
● Entry must be the contestant’s original work. level):
● Only photos taken by re acceptable. Post
processing of the image by using a cellphone GRADE 7 -Animals
to cropping and color enhancements, including
GRADE 8 -Plants
shadows and highlights only. Photo
manipulation is not allowed. GRADE 9 – Land and Water
● Photo must be in landscape orientation.
GRADE 10 – Sky
● Entry must not contain date stamps,
watermarks or any text on the image.
● Contestants must agree and comply with the
Official Rules.
Submission of Photos

● Filename of the photo must be in the format “SURNAME_PHOTO TITLE” and

using MS Word (or the likes), should put the photo with its title and caption
(essay). The file name of the document must be
“SURNAME_PhotoEssay_Grade/Sec”.
● Contestants will be required to provide the following information upon
submission of entry thru gsuite/email:
○ Full Name:
○ Grade and Section
○ Photo Title of the CCF and SCIENCE THEME

Entriessubmitted through other means will not be accepted
and will be automatically disqualified.

40 %Impact– what you feel when you first view the Entry. Does the photo
evoke an emotion from the viewer?
30%Style – how the Entrant is able to showcase their personal originality and
technique to influence how the image is presented and interpreted.
30 %Subject Matter– was the subject matter displayed in the photo
appropriate to the story being told in the Theme
 The life of a street dog is miserable. In our
street there is one such dog. It is very dirty. Its

body is covered all over with wounds. They are
sometimes bleeding. It is kicked and beaten
wherever it goes. It wanders from house to
house to get some crumbs of food. It gets very
little to eat. It starves. It is lean and thin. It barks
at the passersby. Sometimes it gets a good
thrashing at their hands.

It does not get the pat and the love that pet
dogs get. It is neglected and uncared for. At
night it is without a shelter. It sleeps wherever it
finds a place to lie.
Butterflies are such
vibrant creatures. They
are an indispensable
part of our ecosystem.
The bright colour
patterns on their body
are simply fascinating.
Besides, they can fly
whenever and
wherever they want to.
