Validates MIS for Face-to-Face Classes

Maybubon Integrated School (MIS) in
Barangay Maybubon, Guimba, Nueva Ecija
showcased its readiness to welcome back its
learners on January 5, 2022 as it is set to participate
in the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes.

Rolando Enriquez and Dr. Amelia Pascual Nebres,

waste disposal containers, and other health and
safety protocols for the incoming face-to-face
classes.

MIS’ BRIGADA
DURING PANDEMIC

Filipino hearts always long for the nation’s
welfare and success. To achieve the nation’s long-term
vision, it is important to strengthen the quality of
education. Even in the time of the pandemic,
Maybubon Integrated School’s staff, together with the
government, local sectors, and other stakeholders show
some love and compassion for the school. These
stakeholders are still actively doing their part to
achieve the Department of Education’s mission
through participation in Brigada Eskwela. DepEd
Order No. 24, series of 2008 states, “The Brigada
Eskwela is a schools maintenance program nationwide
that engages all education stakeholders to contribute
their time, efforts, and resources to ensure that public
schools are all set in time for class opening.
It is a week-long event where local communities,
parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, NGOs,
private individuals, and even teachers and students
volunteer their time and skills to do minor to medium
repairs and maintenance work in the schools.”
Nevertheless, the Bridaga Eskwela became different in
this time of the pandemic.
The Inter-Agency Task Force released an
“Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of
Community Quarantine in the Philippines”. The
guidelines include the presence of the “Skeleton
Workforce” which is defined as an operational
capacity that utilizes the smallest number of people
needed for an organization to maintain their basic
function. Thus, the remarkable Brigada Eskwela switch
its purpose into a meaningful one as Maybubon
Integrated School had been awarded as CHAMPION in
the medium school category for Best Brigada Eskwela
Implementer headed by its very energetic and untiring
principal, Dr. Jay B. Lagasca and Mr. Reniel S. Ulog
as Brigada Eskwela Coordinator.
The school tried different ways to reach the
learner’s parent or guardian for a remote enrollment.
They invested their time, money, and effort to call and
interview parents and ask about their current
life situation during the pandemic. Moreover, they
discussed with the parents the learning delivery
modalities as well as the possible scenario for the
school year 2021-2022. Also, the Balik-Aral and
repeaters were given a chance to enroll this coming
school year considering that there is no face-to-face
class and they can study at home at their own pace.
The students from low-income families also benefit
from modular distance learning since it is highly
adapted by schools. There will be no hindrance to
continuing learning even in these trying times. Even
the local government is continuously assisting teachers
to reach for the students ensuring that no one will be
left behind.
Additionally, MIS has conducted a pilot
program on Distance Learning Modalities to test their
effectiveness in the teaching-learning process. Radio-
based Instruction has been launched and utilized. The
funding source for this project was made possible
through the collaborative efforts of alumni and GPTA
Officials. The result of this trial helped the School
Leaders to create a better plan and decide what
learning delivery modality is best to be adopted by the
school in the new normal scenario of education.
Moreover, the partnership of school and community is
truly necessary. Aside from the government, the
community is also the backbone of the school. Each of
the said stakeholders invests their time and efforts to
support the school in

Maybubon Integrated School has been chosen
as one of the best schools on the implementation of the
Department’s program-- Brigada Eskwela. The school
bragged the title Division Champion in Medium
School Category. During Brigada Eskwela, the school
is taking actions to provide materials for the
renovation of each place that make it outstanding and
conducive in learning. Without of the help and
participation of its stakeholders, school staffs, parents,
and community, the school ground beautification
would not be possible.

plants. This Gulayan sa Paaralan provides extra
income as it is one of the income generating projects
of the school.

gathering spots for socializing

the learners meant for sports and athletic
activities. Through the creative

MIS, these places became more pleasant
