a few tips on how to get your students attention
You are the boss!
Step 1- get their attention

 1) Ask students to stand up when you enter.

 2) Set the rules

Step 2 Keep them occupied

 Extra worksheets

 Play time
Use gestures
Disruptive students
 Play a song

 Do class favourite activity (board game, minefield,

balloons, dice)

 Make him/her aware of his/her behaviour by role-play or

mimicking

 Set simple, not language learning connected, tasks and

stress their importance

 Make them class monitors

Mobile phone – friend or foe
To sum up:

 1. You are the boss

 3. Reinforce the rules fairly
 4. Keep them occupied
