 It is a concept proposed by Mr . CROSBY.

 Purpose of this concept was to produce products which are free


from all types of defects .

 Although , this seems to be hypothetical but efforts are taken to


minimize the defects .

 In 1986 , Bill smith and Mikel harry , two engineers at Motorola
were accredited to having developed “ SIX SIGMA “ and in 1955
jack welch made it the central business strategy of general electric.

 According to general electrics:


six sigma can be defined as a vision of quality which equates with
only 3.4 defects per million opportunities for each product or
service transaction and strives for perfection .
