3 Types of Reflexive Pronouns
1. Direct Object
- are words, phrases, and clauses that follow a transitive
verb and receive the action of the verb. Reflexive pronouns can
appear with most transitive verbs but the most common
include the following: amuse, blame, cut, dry, enjoy, hurt,
satisfy, prepare, teach, etc.
Example:
They amused them.
They amused themselves.
2. Indirect Object
are words, phrases, and clauses that follow a ditransitive
verb and indicate to or for whom or what the action of the
verb is performed.
Example:
> Cynthia is making Mike a sandwich.
> Cynthia is making herself a sandwich.
> We’ve brought ourselves something to eat.

Clearly, myself does not work, but the subject pronoun I does.
