• Grushko Pavel Moiseevich - Russian poet and translator (mainly Spanish and
English) Born August 15, 1931. In the city of Odessa, A month after the birth of
her son in Odessa, his mother returned with him to Moscow. Pre-war childhood
until 1941 was spent in Moscow on Yelokhovka. During the war, upon
returning from a short evacuation to the Urals, in connection with the arbitrary
deprivation of Moscow registration, the family moved to the city of Pushkino
near Moscow, where he graduated from school in 1949
Creation
1. After working for a local newspaper for two years, he entered the
Spanish Department of the Translation Department of the First
Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages,
graduating in 1995. Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR

2. One of the founders and vice-presidents (poetry sector) of the
Russian Hispanic Association. He was the head of a creative
seminar at the M. Gorky Literary Institute (1990-1995).
3. International poetry jury member in Cuba (1967) and twice in
Panama (2002, 2012).
4. Author of the art concept "Trans / Forms" (the theory and practice of
literary translation as a method of reincarnation in various genres of
art).
1. His poems translated into Spanish have been published in
separate collections in Spain, Peru and Mexico. According to
the Mexican writer Guillermo Samperio: “Pavel Grushko
shared the inevitable fate of true artists: he not only deeply
comprehends his surroundings, but also experiences pain
from the phenomena of the world. We understand this by
reading Paul's chosen verses at random, where we find,
touching his wounds, evidence of his mournful amazement.
2. Widely known for his poetic play-libretto "The Star and Death
of Joaquin Murieta" based on the cantata by Pablo Neruda
3. Pavel Grushko refers his plays to the genre of "poetry",
explaining that "the texts themselves give rise to action on the
stage, provoke it, in turn organically merging with it."
Translation activities 
1. He translated a wide range of Spanish-speaking authors, from
baroque poets to 20th-century poets, not only Spanish but also
Latin American, as well as poets from England and the USA,
Portugal, Brazil and the Philippines. He also translated from
Slavic languages.
2. In 2006, the journal Foreign Literature published more than
300 aphoristic and rhyming Spanish proverbs and sayings
translated by him.
3. In 2015, he was awarded the "Master" award of the Guild
"Masters of Literary Translation" for the best translation of 2015
4. In 2016, Pavel Grushko was awarded a special diploma in the
category "Poetry of the Year" of the all-Russian literary award
"Book of the Year" for the author's anthology "Garments of
Shadows: Poets of Spain. Translations from Spanish and
Catalan.
