Planck’s constant

By: Mohammad Almuhaisen

What is Planck’s
constant?
• fundamental physical constant characteristic
of the mathematical formulations of quantum
mechanics, which describes the behavior of
particles and waves on the atomic scale.

• The symbol of Planck’s constant is (h)

• 6.62607015 × 10-34 m2 kg / s

• The unit of Planck’s constant is joule-seconds

What is planck’s
constant used for?

• It tells us about the measurements of the

particles and waves in an atomic scale, and
sometimes in different aspects of light.

• It said to be one of the mechanics and

measurements for quantum physics.

• And correlates between spectral emissivity.

What is the formula
of Planck’s constant?
• E=hf

• E= energy

• h= planck’s constant

• f= frequency
When did Planck’s
constant discovered?

• Planck figured this out

by measuring heat radiation given
off by vibrating atoms. To do so, he
had to cheat a bit and assume that
atoms could vibrate only at certain
frequencies, which happen to be
whole-number multiples of some
base frequency, which he called h.
