Justification

 Short circuit are mostly responsible to cause fires,
electrocution or other electrical accidents that result
to serious damages. So the researchers would like to
address this issue because almost all of the electrical
experts find it difficult to detect faulty electrical
wires in the household. In addition, this study aims
to reduce the risks of short circuits that may affect
the residences as well as preventing further damages
and injuries that may happen during short circuit.
Statement of the
Problem

 This study mainly focuses on short circuits caused by electrical
faults and the danger it brings to the household. The researchers
would like to conduct this study in order to provide an easier and
more convenient way to locate faulty electrical wires and prevent
damages that may occur. Specifically, this study aims to answer
the following research questions:

 1. What is the efficiency level of the IoT-Based Automated Short

Circuit Detector in terms if identifying electrical faults?

 2. Is there a significant difference on the efficiency level of the IoT-

Based Automated Short Circuit Detector in different trials?
Significance of the Study

 The purpose of this study is to easily track the fault of the
electricity's short circuit using the IOT technology base that
will yield data/information to the following group of
electricity consumers/customers:

 Household Members -To be aware of the short circuit and

to avoid any electrical accidents.
 Electrical Cooperatives –To help locate the electrical faults
in the community.
 Future Researchers –To help them for their future research
and widen their knowledge.

 Industrial Customers - An easily Trackable, easily
identifiable, and easily maintained IoT foundation will
be crucial for ensuring a steady supply of power,
which is essential for the economic development of
highly developed industrialized nations.
 Commercial Customers - It is not uncommon to
encounter electrical problems in commercial properties
like schools, police stations, offices, restaurants, etc.
The property is inspected and any necessary repairs
are made using IOT base technology for short circuit
fault detector to ensure continuing operation.
Scope and Limitation

 The purpose of this study is to understand the concept
of detecting abnormal conditions in the electrical
system. It utilizes current sensor with the help of
Arduino by measuring the electrical current through a
device and generates an appropriate signal that is
proportional to current measured. The researchers will
also use an IOT based system that can collect networks
of connected devices and the technology that facilitates
communication between devices and the cloud, as well
as between the devices themselves.

 This study will be conducted within the time frame
allotted for the researchers’ before the end of the
school year 2022-2023. Furthermore, the
experimentation will be held inside the premises of
Digos City Senior High School(DCSHS).
