ORAL STAGE
(Birth - 18 months)
During this stage, the child focused is on
pleasure.
Erogenous Zone: Mouth
Fixation / Personality: Oral Reception /
Oral Aggressive
ANAL STAGE
(18 mos – 3 years old)
The child’s focus is on anus.
Erogenous Zone: Anus
Fixation / Personality: Anal Retentive /
Anal Expulsive
PHALLIC STAGE

( ages 3 – 6 )
Erogenous Zone: Genitals / External
reproductive organs.
Fixation / Personality: Oedipus Complex
(boys) / Electra Complex (girls)
LATENCY STAGE

[6 -13 (girls) 6 – 15 (boys)


During this stage, sexual urges remain repressed.
GENITAL STAGE

(Puberty – onwards)
Sexual urges once again awakened.

• The unconscious – Freud believed that most of


what influence us is unconscious.
• The conscious – Freud said that all that we aware
of is stored in our conscious mind.
• The subconscious – In this part us that we can
reach if prompted , but is not our active conscious.
