What is the big bang?
Scientific reference: The big bang is how astronomers explain the way the universe
began. It is the idea that the universe began as just a single point, then expanded
and stretched to grow as large as it is right now (and it could still be stretching).

Islamic reference: For people who do not believe in

Allah there appear to be other explanations about
how the world began. There are two main ideas
which are linked together: the big bang theory and
the theory of evolution
 Quranic verses
The Holy Quran describes God as both the originator and sustainer of the universe. In fact,
the second line of the Quran begins by describing God as ‘Rabbil Aalameen,’ meaning that
God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Developer of every world. Evolution is the overriding law
of the Quran’s cosmology, first from God’s decree into actual existence, and from there into
the universe we see today.
ٰۤ ‫ض ؕ و ا َِذا َق‬
ُ‫ضی اَ ۡم ًرا َف ِا َّن َما َیقُ ۡول ُ لَ ٗہ ُک ۡن َف َیک ُۡون‬ َ ِ ‫ت َو ااۡل َ ۡر‬ َّ ‫َبد ِۡی ُع‬
ِ ‫الس ٰم ٰو‬

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth.

When He decrees a thing, He does only say to it, ‘Be!’ and
