What is as sedimentary rock?

✤ Is a rock that forms when small particles of rock or the


remains of plants and animals are pressed or
cemented together.
Three types of sedimentary rock

✤ There are many types of sedimentary rocks.

✤ We are going to show you three of them


Coal
✤ Coal is fossilized peat, dead plant material that once
piled deep of the bottom of ancient swamp.
Natural Asphalt

✤ Asphalt is found in nature wherever crude oil seeps


from the ground. Many early roads used in natural
asphalt for pavements.
Coquina

✤ Coquina is a limestone composed chiefly of shell


fragments. It's not common, but when you see if you
want to have the name handy.
Breccia

✤ Breccia is a rock made of smaller rocks, like


conglomerate. It contains sharp, broken clasts while
conglomerate has smooth, round clasts.
Conclusion

✤ Sedimentary rocks have many uses and they are in


different shapes and colors. This rocks are very
interesting.
