There are three major types of rocks: igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic

rocks.
Marble
Marble is a non-foliated metamorphic rock composed of calcite or dolomite..
[1]
Marble is commonly
used for sculpture and as a building material.
White marble has been prized for its use in sculptures since classical times
Construction marble is a stone which is composed of calcite, dolomite or serpentine which is capable of
taking a polish.
Granite
Sculpture and memorials
Granite is a common type of igneous rock which is granular and phaneritic in texture. The word
"granite" comes from the Latin granum, a grain, in reference to the coarse-grained structure of
such a holocrystalline rock.
In some areas granite is used for gravestones and memorials. Granite is a hard stone and
requires skill to carve by hand.

Sand stone
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized minerals or rock grains.
Most sandstone is composed of quartz and/or feldspar because these are the most common
minerals in the Earth's crust. Like sand, sandstone may be any colour, but the most common
colours are tan, brown, yellow, red, grey, pink, white and black

Graphite (Lustrous)
Graphite belongs to metamorphic category. The use of graphite in batteries has been increasing in the
last 30 years. Natural and synthetic graphite are used to construct the anode of all major battery
technologies.

It is used in Steelmaking, Brake Linings, Pencils and also in other manufacturing sectors.
