PROBLEM STATEMENT

Encik Ahmad Hassan, 60years old

A friend of my History teacher’s husband,

was involved in an accident on the
highway. He was helping his friend to
repair a broken down car when a lorry
rammed into him. There were many

EXISTING SOLUTION AND
LIMITATION
The design is too short , cannot Difficult to detect when visibility is
be seen by huge vehicles such poor especially in rain, dusk ,
as lorries , buses or tractors. darkness or fog.

they may try to stop quickly or swerve to avoid you.

ROSS – Road Safety Signal

Advantages
• Easily available - The materials for the prototype can be easily
brought.

• Portable and light weight - Prototype can be folded and it won’t

take up much space . It is light weight too.

• Increased safety - Drivers or road users don’t need to worry about

their safety when using the road safety signal as they can control
the signal using mobile phone.

• Higher and better visibility – blinking signal can be seen from a

distance away.

Methodology
• Tripod stand can be extended to its preferable and visible height.
• The blinking light functions as a signal and alerts the drivers especially during night time or
low visibility.
• Road Safety Signal can be controlled by a mobile app. For example, we can control the time
duration of the signal to blink.
• The box contains all the chips and wires.
• In case of any emergency , the red flag will caution the drivers.(optional)
• When an approaching vehicle reaches a distance of 200 metres, our prototype will warn the
owner of the broken down car or people who are helping.

more alert of oncoming vehicles due to
the sound made by the prototype. Thus,
they can protect themselves and reduce
the possibilities of accidents.

helping vehicles that break down on
the roadsides or highways.
