Be mindful of what you share
online and what site you share it to
Especially with news or information,
it is not safe to just share or spread it
online. Fake information and news is
very risky and sources are most often
bogus. People who don't know much
will easily trust it which worsens the
situation. Always make sure of what
you're posting and the site you're
posting it to.

Safety Tips for Social Networking:
Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter can be a great
way to connect with friends. But there are some social networking
safety tips you should always keep in mind.

Manage your privacy settings. Learn about and use the privacy and
security settings on your social networking sites. They help you
control who sees what you post and manage your online experience
in a positive way. You'll find some information about Facebook
privacy settings at the bottom of this webpage.

No. 3 tip
Do not share your password with anyone:
When you share your password with another
person, you essentially grant them access to not
only that account, but every account you own that
uses the same password. One risk of sharing
passwords is that your account immediately
becomes much less secure.
Even if you trust the person to whom you give
your password, they may not store it in a secure
location or they might keep it on a compromised
device, opening it up to potential theft and thus
putting you, your accounts and your private
information at risk. It is hugely important that
you’re careful about to whom you give your
password.

and never share it to anyone.

websites for downloading any file or sharing login credentials
with them as these websites can silently deliver malware via
downloaded files and it might compromise your safety.
Viruses are primarily hidden in multimedia contents, videos, pdf,
links, images, etc.. which can infect your computer whenever
you download such malicious files.

The more online accounts and devices you
have, the greater the scope for cybercriminals to
cause you harm. That's why it's essential to
understand internet safety rules which protect
you and your family from threats that may harm
your data and devices.

By practicing Online Safety, we can prevent and

mitigate the risks that are inherently involved
with using digital technologies, platforms and
services. Once the risks are managed, the
internet can be enjoyed free from harm and to
enormous benefit.
