GRAMMAR REVIEW FOR THE TEST


Used to + verb (infinitive)
 Rule: to talk about habits in the past.
 Ex:
 I used to play the piano, but now
I’ve forgotten. .
 I didn’t use to smoke when I
was a child. Now I smoke alot.
 He used to sing as a child, but
now she is too shy.
Be used to + verb with -ing

 To talk about habist at a defined time.

 I’m used to speaking in public.


 We are used to living in Santiago .
 He’s used to studying a lot.
 He was used to studying. Now he’s getting
used to studying again.
 Mr. Smith is used to smoking 20 cigarettes a
day.
Get + used to + verb -ing

 We use it when we aquire a habit.


 Ex:
 She is getting used to living in NYC.
 I won’t get used to driving on the left hand.
 I was getting used to running when I broke
my leg.
 The Sparrows got used to making parties
every weekend.
