Banning of Chinese Apps

The Indian Government on June 29, 2020 banned 59 apps of Chinese origin.
It was banned by Ministry of Electronics and information technology.
Invoking powers under section 69A of the information technology read with
relevant provisions of the information technology Rules 2009.
There are some include popular ones are Tik – Tok, share it, UC browser,
Cam scanner, Helo, Weibo, We chat and Club factory .
Analyses aspects and conclude ethical issues:-
• Some Chinese mobile app are stealing and transmitting user data in unauthorized
manner.
• They harmed our national security.
• These apps are using data illegally, and secretly collecting information from people’s
phone when they download the apps.
• Some short video app like tik – tok, helo they promote the acid attack, sexual
abuse, domestic violence, animal abuse, violence and hatred against religion
• They encouraging the violation of lockdown norms during coronavirus pandemic.
• The Chinese app had a biggest foreign market in India like tik – tok with an
estimate 120 million active user.
• After these consequences our prime minister launch “Aatm nirbhar bharat” scheme
through we can make our own app.
