DEFINATION OF RATIONAL NUMBER.

 Can be represented in p/q form where p and q are integer.

 Here, P is numerator
Q is denominator.
Q should not be equal to zero..

3/2 is a rational number. It means integer 3 Is divided by another integer 2.

EQUIVALENT RATIONAL NUMBER

 Two rational numbers are equivalent if their lowest form or standard form after
reduction, is equal.

 In any rational number, its numerator and denominator are multiplied or

divided by the same integer to give the equivalent rational number. In any
rational number, its numerator and denominator are multiplied or divided by
the same integer to give the equivalent rational number.
HOW TO MAKE EQUIVALENT RATIONAL
NUMBER
 Let a/b be any rational number, then the equivalent rational number is
determined as follow:
 a/ b =a×m/ b×m or a/ b =a÷m/ b÷m
 Where m is any integer.
 For Example:
Let us consider a rational number 4/6.
The equivalent rational numbers are found as follows:
i)4/6=4×2/ 6×2=8/ 12
ii) 4/6=4÷2/ 6÷2=2/3
Therefore, the equivalent rational numbers of 4/6are 8/12 and 2/3.
Hence,Two rational numbers are equivalent if their lowest form or standard form
after reduction, is equal.
