INTRODUCTION:
 Ola Cabs is an Indian multinational ridesharing company,
headquartered in Bangalore.
 It also operates in other business verticals including
financial services and cloud kitchens.

 Ola was Founded on 3 December 2010; 11 years ago by Mr
Bhavish Aggarwal(CEO) and Mr Ankit Bhati(CTO)
 Ola is Headquartered at Bangalore, Karnataka, India
 A variety of venture capitalists including Softbank have
large stakes in the company.
 In January 2018, Ola extended into its first overseas
market, Australia, and launched in New Zealand in
September 2018.
 In March 2019, Ola began its operations in the UK. Number of

 The idea for a cab company struck Aggarwal when he had a bad experience
with a taxi, which led him and Ankit Bhati to co-found Ola Cabs in 2010. 
Ola Cabs has become the largest network of personal transportation
options within India and has emerged as the most popular choice for many
consumers in 22 Indian cities.

 In May 2020, Ola Cabs announced a huge layoff of around 5000 employees in

a move to survive the economic repercussions of COVID-19. It had suffered
an overwhelming loss of revenue by about 95%.
 In a webinar addressed to the students of Bennet University, Bhavish said
that the COVID-19 pandemic was about to accelerate the innovations in
technologies. He claimed that the markets might move towards more car
rentals and subscription-based ownerships of cars.
 In April 2022, An internal email to Ola employees was sent out, announcing
that Bhavish Aggarwal would be stepping down from day-to-day operations
of the company to focus on the future of Ola’s venture into electric vehicles
and quick-commerce.

 Bhavish is the Co-Founder & CEO of Ola, one of the world’s
largest ride-sharing platforms and India’s most popular mobile
app for transportation. With the mission of building mobility for a
billion people, he started Ola (formerly OlaCabs) in 2010 with
Ankit Bhati, a fellow alumnus from the Indian Institute of
Technology in Mumbai, the country’s premier institution for
technology and science.
 Before Ola, Bhavish worked with Microsoft Research for two
years, filing two patents alongside having three papers published
in international academic journals. True to his belief of the need
to have on-demand consumer transportation as a service,
Bhavish doesn't own a car himself and vows that he never will!

Technologies.
 Speculations arose that Ankit Bhati
distanced himself from the ridesharing
company last year owing to some serious
conflicts between him and the founder of
the company, Bhavish Aggarwal.
Nonetheless, his contribution to the
company is way more than such
