Question 1.
How many travel counsellors would be needed at
Midwest location? How many travel counsellors
would be needed if three Midwest centers are
combined?
Assumption:
● A call was placed on hold for 1 minute and the
average time per call is 5 min. Therefore total
service time per call is 6 mins.
● We are considering the hold on time to be 1
minute
● The Annual Salary of each TC is constant at $
30,000 irrespective of the call service time
Question 2.

How much could be saved if calls in Indianapolis


were handled in 4 minutes or 3 minutes?
Estimate the savings for the total department.
Assumption:

30,000 irrespective of the call service time
Recommendations:
● If we - for centralised operations, so Indianapolis, Dallas,
and Kansas City go for a centralised BTC, we can save at
least $ 1,50,000.
● Servicing times may be cut in half if we could increase
service quality through training or other means, and Bill
should take that into account.
● When the service time is reduced and centralised
operations are performed, the savings are greater than
when only centralised activities are performed.
