Since, postal courier services form a key part of the

global communications infrastructure, with high

economic and social importance, wherein
technological changes are presenting new forms of
competition as well as new opportunities as a rapidly
growing area of economic activity in supply chain
management and logistics, the PRD is mandated to:
• To ensure consumer protection and welfare, data privacy
and security, foster competition, and growth in the ICT
sector;
• To ensure and protect the rights and welfare of consumers
and business users privacy, security, and confidentiality in
matters relating to information and communications
technology, in coordination with concerned agencies, the
private sector and relevant international bodies.
