Automatic Power Factor Correction

Panels ( APFC Capacitor Panel )
The most economical value of power factor lies
between 0.9 to 0.95. If the value of power factor
lies below 0.8 (approx), then it draws more
current from the load.
Diesel generator

• This is DG (Diesel
generator).
• An alternator generator of
110 KVA rating
• Which is connected with
the power control center (
Line 1&2)
• It act as backup or source
of desired power .
• This diesel generator can
be used as an emergency
power supply in case of
power cuts or in places
where there is no
connection with the
power grid

PLC.
PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller. They are industrial computers used to control different
electro-mechanical processes for use in manufacturing, plants, or other automation environments.
PLCs vary in size and form factors. Some are small enough to fit in your pocket while others are large enough to
require their own heavy-duty racks to mount. Some PLC’s can be customized with back planes and functional
modules to fit different types of industrial applications.
PLCs are widely used in a variety of industries because they’re fast, easy to operate and are considered easy to
program. PLCs can be programmed in several ways, from ladder logic, which is based on electromechanical relays, to
specially adapted programming languages of BASIC and C .

Test a Load Cell
To test a load cell before putting it to use, we’ll need a multimeter and a voltage
source.
Measure the resistance of the input and output leads of the load cell by setting up
the multimeter in Ohms.
Compare the measurement values with the calibration certificate from the
manufacturer to see if they closely match each other.
Similarly, check the load cell for accuracy by measuring the millivolts signal from
the input leads. With no force applied to the load cell, the value should be zero.
Apply a calibrated dead weight as specified in the calibration certificate and
compare the values again.

CONCLUSION

I am grateful to Mr. Vijay Singh, Sr. Manager Operation and Mr. Shailesh Singh, Deputy Manager, Electrical
who all guided me and very patiently made me understood the whole working of industry and different
electrical components.
The whole training session has increased my knowledge in electrical system and provided me a practical
view towards our electrical department.
