RATIONALISM

Ms. Cathy Mae Rivera

In literature, rationalism is
the idea that people are
able to discover what is
true by using reasoning.
This meant that authors
published many non-fiction
works like pamphlets,
speeches, and essays on
various subjects.
Rationalists believed that
humans could find truth
through reason, rather than
relying on religion, faith,
intuition, or past scholars.
Writings do not focus upon
God, but rather logic and
reason. Rationalists
believed: Humans have
control over their life.
