• Public health practice is being influenced by the ways people
behave.
• Both beneficiary population and practitioners on health
matters backed by sociological and social psychological
phenomena prevalent in the society.
• Therefore, planning and implementation of an effective
public health actions, namely promoting and protecting
health; preventing health risk factors , injuries and diseases;
controlling epidemics; encouraging people for early detection,
treatment

programs namely, health education, health promotion, public
health law and acts, infrastructure development should
consider the health and disease related sociological and social

strand has been prepared to develop basic concept of public
health sociology and social psychology.
