Asexual reproduction is a process resulting in the
production of genetically identical offspring from one
parent

Sexual reproduction is a process resulting in the


production of genetically unique offspring (a zygote)
from two parents who each contribute a gamete.
Advantages & Disadvantages (Asexual)

Advantages
1. Population can be rapidly increased
2. More time and energy efficient

3. Limited genetic variation, so population is
susceptible to changes in environment / disease
