RISING TO THE CHALLENGE

GROW TO MATURITY
KEY VERSE

1 SAMUEL
17: 1 - 54
RISE TO THE CHALLENGE
– To discover or utilize the strength, determination,
or skill necessary to accomplish some difficult task
successfully.
– Doing one’s best to cope with a tough situation
constructively.
– Elevating oneself to meet a difficult situation.
– Putting more effort to meet something above
one’s comfort zone.
HEBREWS 5:12 NLT
You have been believers so long now
that you ought to be teaching others.
Instead, you need someone to teach
you again the basic things about
God’s word. You are like babies who
need milk and cannot eat solid food.
HEBREWS 5:13 NIV
Anyone who lives on milk,
being still an infant, is not
acquainted with the teaching
about righteousness.
HEBREWS 5:14
Solid food is for those who
are mature, who through
training have the skill to
recognize the difference
between right and wrong.
HEBREWS 6:1 NLT
So let us stop going over the basic
teachings about Christ again and again.
Let us go on instead and become mature
in our understanding. Surely we don’t
need to start again with the fundamental
importance of repenting from evil deeds
and placing our faith in God.
HEBREWS 6:2 NLT
You don’t need further
instruction about baptisms, the
laying on of hands, the
resurrection of the dead, and
eternal judgment.
HEBREWS 6:3 NLT
And so, God willing, we
will move forward to
further understanding.
COLOSSIANS 1:9 NLT

So we have not stopped praying for

you since we first heard about you.
We ask God to give you complete
knowledge of his will and to give
you spiritual wisdom and
understanding.
1 CORINTHIANS 14:20 NLT

Dear brothers and sisters, don’t be

childish in your understanding of
these things. Be innocent as babies
when it comes to evil, but be mature
in understanding matters of this
kind.
