Impact of Population in the Environment

Population Growth
Increase in the numbers of humans on Earth.

Human population growth impacts the Earth system in a variety of ways:


1.) Increasing the extraction of resources from the environment.
2.) Increasing the burning of fossil fuels.
3.) Increase in freshwater use for drinking, agriculture, recreation and industrial
processes.
4.) Increase in the destruction of natural habitats.
5.) Reducing species population.
6.) Rapid spread of diseases.

to the Population
Destruction of natural resources impact the population of organisms in
variety of ways:

1.) Land/soil degradation


2.) Loss of biodiversity
3.) Air pollution
4.) Water pollution
5.) Global warming/Climate change

BIRTH RATE
 Refers to the number of children who are born.
 Dominant factor in determining the rate of population growth.
 Depends on the age structure and level of fertility of the population.

DEATH RATE
 Number of persons who died.

Provincial governments are tasked with providing primary and secondary

City and municipal governments are tasked with providing primary health

care, promotive and preventive health programs and basic ambulatory clinical
care.
