Problem Statement Slide

Company C is a multinational with operations in more than

100 nations and more than 80,000 staff members working all
over the world. The company, which provides IT services, was
founded 50 years ago. Recently, despite the company
performing well in terms of growth, stakeholders have
questioned the organization's agility and innovation attitude or
encouraged them to be used more frequently. The company
needs to involve its staff in creating an entrepreneurial and
innovative culture. The company's employees are 34 years old
on average.

The company has a hybrid work environment, and employees

come into the office three days a week. An innovative and
entrepreneurial culture must be fostered within the
organization.
Process Slide

Innovation is often associated with creating new products or services in your business. But it can also be about changing the way
one does business. Innovation embraces new technologies and their uses of improved industry methods to meet changing
customer demands or needs for better systems and processes.\

1. Innovation must be adopted as a core value that the company wants everyone in the organization to recognize the idea that not
trying anything new is often the biggest risk. So, in order to encourage the employees, the employees must also be honest and
open share ideas and exploring initiatives without fear of retribution
2. The company should prioritize hiring people with different perspectives. When hiring, look for employees who understand
vision aligning with the culture, but aren't necessarily the same as one may have different perspectives come from diverse
backgrounds have passions, and different abilities. Having employees with different sets of ideas and approaches to problem-
solving will easily generate an innovative approach.
3. Giving employees time and space to innovate. Be open and approachable to new ideas, and set aside spaces for employees to
create and share ideas. Several large companies often allocate time for their employees to break from routine roles to inspire
new thoughts. This could be an employee retreat, allocated time each day, or a day out of the office.
4. Company should also support innovation by setting up: meetings to share ideas and suggestions on the boxes, suggestion
areas on the staff intranet dedicated times, or rooms. Encourage collaboration to create work practices to encourage employees
to work together and openly discuss ways to improve.
5. Having a feedback process that will ensure there's a process that everyone understands for assessing each new idea.
Employees will be encouraged to suggest or recommend ideas if they're confident that they will be appropriately considered.
The company should ensure to acknowledge every suggestion in a timely manner and give feedback on the idea.
Solution Slide
When working in a hybrid work environment, employee engagement becomes a critical aspect. This can be
achieved by motivating employees to take up company-approved training and courses. These courses could be on
innovation and entrepreneurship. Continuing learning has to be added to the company culture. Peer-to-peer
learning among colleagues should also be initialised. Learning and development programmes show how much
you value each individual employee since you opt to keep investing in them rather than hiring candidates with the
desired abilities. Desired skills in this case would be innovation and entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship within companies means more than just turning high-potential ideas into value-driving projects.
The term suggests a company that values innovation, calculated risk-taking, and open communication. This entails
giving team members the freedom and tools they need to develop and carry out their own projects. In other words,
one must allow their employees to act like entrepreneurs.
Analysis of market trends, the spotting of business prospects, and deliberate decision-making are all part of
entrepreneurship. The following technique can helps to weave these behaviours into employee's regular activities:
• Provide extra training and education opportunities
• Reward employees that try to solve problems
• Give staff the independence to make their own decisions
• Create a safe place to fail
• Award high-performers with more responsibility and decision-making power
• Communicate company objectives and challenges in a transparent manner

One of the most important aspect to foster innovation and entrepreneurship is trust.
Penalizing unsuccessful ideas not only decreases employee creativity and productivity, but it also fosters a culture
of fear. Entrepreneurship inevitably involves taking risks. Only in a workplace where employees are free to try new
things and learn without worrying about failing can innovation be successful. Managers must therefore build a level
of trust.
Annexure Slide
To sum it all, Entrepreneurs in business require innovation
to stay relevant in the face of growing competition in all
spheres of human endeavour. However, what part does
innovation play in entrepreneurship? Innovation essentially
refers to the replacement or enhancement of something. It
is the specific tool that business owners use to create
various innovation initiatives. In order to respond to
market trends and demands, an innovative entrepreneur
must be able to develop novel products and services.

Our team has come up with some bright solutions to

enhance innovation at the workplace and some of them
include increasing employee motivation by adopting
various techniques like a safe place to work. For
employees returning to work post a long time of online
operations, the best way to increase engagement should
be making innovation a core value and programming the
transition into a smooth and consistent one.
