NUMERACY

 usually, the ability to add,

subtract, multiply and divide.
PEMDAS: Program In
Enhancing Basic Math
Through Delivering
Assistance To Students
SY: 2022-2023
The aim of this program is to enhance the skills of the
learners in four fundamental operations (addition,
subtraction, multiplication, division) in whole number,
integer, decimal and fraction. When the Department of
Education reopened this school year 2022-2023 after more
than two years of modular distance learning and online
learning, our school Mangatarem National High School,
Mathematics Teachers conducted Numeracy Test on the
first day of class to assess learners understanding of the
mathematical language and skills.
Teachers in Mathematics need an accurate
information about each learner to determine what
they need to do, what they already know in order to
help/guide/support the learners.
Why is there a need of
numeracy?
Students have the opportunities to further
develop logical thinking and reasoning so
that they can estimate, recognize
reasonable answers and engage in all kinds
of mathematical problem solving.

The PEMDAS designs to improve the outcomes
in Mathematics by enhancing students' numeracy
capacities in all grade levels by means of
innovative intervention programs that foster long-
term quality education. Such interventions
techniques are: Remedial classes, Provision of
supplementary activities, recitations, peer
tutoring, integration of technology resource
materials, strategic intervention materials, and
game-based activities.
