knowledge and techniques that are
applied in an orderly manner to achieve a
particular goal or solve a problem.

Technology is a response to man's


desire to transform the environment and
improve his quality of life. It includes
knowledge and techniques developed
over time that are used in an organized
way to meet specific needs.

for?
Technology is one of the four factors of production, along with capital, land, and labor.
Man uses technology to satisfy his needs, which may involve transforming his environment,
solving problems, increasing efficiency, improving aesthetics, etc.

Well-used technology can improve people's quality of life (such as developing cleaner
production methods). However, misused, it can cause great harm to people and society.
Advantages and disadvantages of
• Advantage:

• Increased productivity. Technological advances have made it possible to create tools that have
increased productivity in recent years. It was made thanks to the automation of infinite processes.
• Communications Improvements. Transportation of people and methods of communication
between individuals have greatly improved due to technology, providing greater ease in
communications.
• Cost reduction. Creating more efficient systems or automations have made production
processes cheaper.
• Access to information. Today, we have access to virtually unlimited information thanks to
technology.
• Emergence of new business models. Technology has undoubtedly brought a revolution in
business. The advancement of this fact has given birth to a large number of alternatives in the
entrepreneurial world.
• Advances in science. The creation of new machines, intended for researchers, has brought
great advances and discoveries in fields as important as medicine.
Disadvantages:
• Isolation from people. The advent of
social media or streaming content platforms
has led to a greater degree of loneliness in
most citizens.
• Loss of privacy. The use of technological
devices collects information about users and
distributes it among a multitude of
companies.
• Psychological problems. The constant
exposure and viewing of "prototype people"
has psychologically destabilized a part of
society. The generation of depressions or
other negative disorders etc.
