Recount text structure
• Orientation
In this paragraph, you should include the opening paragraph introducing the participant, setting of
time, as well as setting of place.
• Events
In events, you must be aware that it should be a chronological order. This stage is part of the events
experienced by the characters. It contains a series of events so that it constructs a complete series.

• Reorientation
It is optional starting personal comment of the writer to the story
Language Features of the text
• Introducing personal participant; I, my group, my family, my school, etc.
• Using chronological connection; then first, next, after that first of all, etc.
• Using linking verb; was, were, saw, heard, etc.
• Using action verb; look, go, change, run, arrive, take, laugh, sing, etc.
• Using simple past tense, would + verb 1 past perfect tense, past continuous.

 Family Trip to Jakarta
(Last month, my family want to Jakarta we went there by plane. It was so fun

because it was the first time we went to Jakarta by plane. )
(In Jakarta, we went to some interesting places. We went to Dufan on the first day

in Jakarta. My sister and I took some rides there. We really enjoyed the day in
Dufan. Besides we, bought some merchandise too. On the day, we went to Taman
Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). We went around TMII by train. We were happy to see
some traditional houses in there. On the last day, we only stayed at hotel. We
swam at hotel and had lunch near the pool. Finally, around 3 pm we went to
airport and went back to Lampung.)

A TRIP TO TARAKAN
