INTRODUCTION

 Divorce is the legal act of terminating one’s marriage.

 The Philippines remains to be the only country left in the world —

bar the Vatican City — to outlaw divorce.

 Just this February, a House Bill proposing the legalization of

divorce was approved by the Philippine House of Representatives.

 This study intends to determine whether or not the students are in

favor of divorce in the Philippines.

4

What are the perceptions of students from the senior high school department
at Silliman University on the legalization of divorce in the Philippines?

 Subproblems:
1. 1. How do culture and religion affect a student’s perception of the
legalization of divorce in the Philippines?

2. 2. Will the legalization of divorce serve as an efficient solution in

resolving the reality of an unhealthy relationship?

3. 3. What are the psychological and emotional effects of this illegitimacy to

the children of broken marriages?
