The name of the flag of the USA is “Stars and Stripes”
It contains 50 stars, since each single star represents a state (50 states).

But, have you ever wondered why there are 13 stripes on the flag too?

Well, that is because of the original 13 colonies.


The original 13 Colonies were
British colonies on the east coast
of North America, stretching from
New England to the northern
border of the Floridas. It was
those colonies that came together
to form the United States.
