MaryCollantes2022
and behaviors has dyslexic tendency.
These characteristics can vary from day-to-day or minute-

MaryCollantes2022
to-minute. The most consistent thing about dyslexics is
their inconsistency.
Dyslexia, also known as developmental reading
disorder, refers to child’s difficulty with reading, writing,

MaryCollantes2022
and spelling due to the brain’s decreased recognition of
symbols (such as letters and numbers).

 Displays difficulty recognizing patterns when adding,

 Exhibits difficulty using steps involved in math

operations

 Shows difficulty understanding fractions

Most learners that will exhibit about 5 of the listed traits
and behaviors has dyscalculic tendency.

MaryCollantes2022
Individuals with this type of Learning Disability may also have
poor comprehension of math symbols, may struggle with
memorizing and organizing numbers, have difficulty telling time,
or have trouble with counting.

Dyscalculia affects a person’s ability to understand

numbers and learn math facts.
MaryCollantes2022
NOW LETS TRY ANOTHER ONE

inattention, hyperactivity, and the inability to control

MaryCollantes2022
impulses

Children with ADHD may also struggle with low self-

esteem, troubled relationships and poor performance in
school. Symptoms sometimes lessen with age. However,
some people never completely outgrow
their ADHD symptoms. But they can learn strategies to be
successful.

Identification and Referral Process

MaryCollantes2022
Begin with recognizing learners who
exhibit atypical needs as compared to their
peers in the same chronological age.
PROVISION OF EDUCATIOAL PROGRAM AND
SERVICES FOR LEARNERS WITH DISABILITIES
(LWDS)

The learners with atypical needs shall be provided

MaryCollantes2022
with appropriate interventions and if the interventions are
successful then referral is not needed anymore.

However, if the interventions are not

successful, then referral is necessary.
PROVISION OF EDUCATIOAL PROGRAM AND
SERVICES FOR LEARNERS WITH DISABILITIES
(LWDS)

The learners with atypical needs shall be referred to

MaryCollantes2022
an appropriate specialist (who is either part of the ILRC
or from the health center, division office, LGU, or other
institutions which have allied and medical specialists like
psychologists, doctors, etc.) for assessment.

However, prior to assessment of these learners, it

is imperative to seek the approval and consent of their
parents.
PROVISION OF EDUCATIOAL PROGRAM AND
SERVICES FOR LEARNERS WITH DISABILITIES
(LWDS) BASED ON DO 44 S. 2021

The learners with atypical needs shall be

environment and for eligibility to be part of
appropriate programs and services.

The results of the assessment and suggested

placement will be discussed with the learners with
disabilities and their families.

THANK YOU!
His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this
man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

Jesus answered, “Neither he nor his parents

sinned; it is so that the works of God might be
made visible through him.

We have to do the works of the one who sent me

while it is day. Night is coming when no one can
work.
