Introduction

Mission The preferred gas transporting and

value-adding services company in Nigeria
and Africa

Vision NGC is committed to providing world class infrastructure

for delivery of on-specification natural gas and its by-products to
customers in a safe, reliable, profitable and environmentally
sustainable manner

NNPC key priority area in Gas:

expand the gas infrastructure blueprint to
ensure 4.5bcfd is utilized in the domestic
market by 2023

Pipelines Division is central to achieving the above national objective and NGC’s mission and
vision

Pipelines Division Mandate

Develops and builds pipelines (inter-state and cross-country) and associated facilities
(terminal gas/ metering stations/city gates, valve stations etc.)

Carries out major upgrades of existing facilities

Offers technical support services to other divisions (Assets Management,

Support Services etc.)
Pipelines Division Main Activities
•Concept Studies: reconnaissance – deskstop - route selection –
prelim cost estimates/ scope development.

•Front-End Engineering Design.

•Network Stability Management.

•Contract Administration

•Continuous risk monitoring and evaluation

•Project Management

•Archiving and updating of Technical Records and Documentations

Overview of Gas Pipeline Projects
Pipeline projects are
typically executed via
Engineering, Procurement Engineering/Design of Pipeline
and Construction (EPC) requires consideration of several
contracts factors like fluid properties,
location, Pipeline Design involves amongst
others, route selection, detailed
survey, sizing, wall thickness
determination, stress analysis, pipeline
network stability and protection

Procurement of line pipes and LLIs from

OEMs
Construction involves RoW clearing, stringing,
welding, NDT, wrapping, trenching, lowering,
backfilling, pre-commissioning and
commissioning, amongst others
