SYNOPSIS
1) DELIVERING THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

An important stage of a programme when its main


stakeholders –
 the training agency,
 the participants
 and the trianers are face to face with one another for the
first time.

Real challenge to Exhibit competencies,


 patience and confidence.
 In initial stage the key task is to make the participants
comfortable in their new surroundings,
 arouse their curiosity about the contents of the
programme ,
 and stimulate them to participate.
 giving the process of learning a big initial impetus
and sustain its pace and momentum.

The strategy should be directed at making optimum


use of potential and energy of the group in promoting
the process of learning.

The concluding phase of the programme is to


consolidate the learning accruing from various
training activities and not let it to dissipate.
a)Meeting them on their
arrival:
•Someone connected with the training agency
should be there to receive the participants.

•Attending skills are important.

•Ensure that the arrangements at the venue are


completed before the first participant arrives.

2)ARRIVAL OF THE PARTICIPANTS


Arrival kit should include:
 a copy of the programme
 Writing materials
 Do’s and don’ts for the participants
 Information on the city
 Details ,experience and background of trainers
 A brochure or other training materials on training
agency,giving details on its programmes and activities
 List of participants indicating the organisations they
represent and the city/country they come from.
b)Materials they should receive on arrival
 Information on accomodation, meal timings etc.
 details of room allocation intercom numbers of all
participants.
Due to compulsion of flight or train
schedules ,some participants might arrive early for
the programme.its important to make them feel
welcome.

plan well in advance.the library and reading


room should be made available to them
registration/checking in.
c)Special arrangements for those who arrive early
a)Physical set up, materials and
equipment:

Two aspects of the programme about which


the participants are concerned –living
arrangements and facilities for training.

Material should be prepared in advance


before programme begins.

various training activities should be pre –
tested and kept in a state of readiness.
b)Professional and mental preparation
of the trainers:

Every training group is different and may


require a different treatment of the same
topic or module. innovate new method and
make presentations more exciting.

Convert nervous energy of participants into


motive force , a drive to perform well.
Greeting participants warmly, establish rapport
with participant.

Special effort to demolish psychological barriers


and establish a warm functional relationship with
participants.

Establishing a bond with the participants and


empathizing with them can me mutually
comforting.
c)Connecting with participants:
Mental blocks are removed and communication
barriers come down.
The programme begins when the participants
assemble in the room and the training team
opens the proceedings in accordance with the
programme schedule.

d)Opening the programme:


a)Blend the participants into a functional,cohesive group:

The participants should be given the opportunity of getting


acquainted with one another in anon threatening and risk-free
environment.

b)Establishing a mechanism for the participation and involvement


of the participants in the programme.

4)MAKING THE TRAINING GROUP FUNCTIONAL


It is necessary that the training team
creates an environment conducive for
initiating and sustaining the learning
process.

5)EMPOWERING THE GROUP


Understanding empowerment in the context of training:

Define the scope of the empowerment and help to identify the tasks .

OBJECTIVES OF EMPOWERMENT:
•assisting the participants in a process of self awareness and self
appraisal in accordance with the needs of the programme.

•Facilitating equitable access to the learning process for all


participants , through a range of training activities

•Promoting their meaningful and productive contribution to all


training activities

•Enabling them to take control and guide the process of their learning
Facilitate expression of participants’
anxieties and concerns.
Clarify their role and enhance their
commitment to the programme
Encourage them to set personal learning
objectives
