 Summary
Introduction
Bsnl is an Indian state-owned telecommunication
It was intercorported on 15 september 2000.
Before 2000,it was knowns as department of
telecommunication
Bsnl stand for bhart sanchar nagar limited
Its Indian largest and oldest communcation service.
Bsnl is at 6th position operator with market share 8.08%
GSM
3G NETWORK
• 3G (short for third generation) is the third generation of wireless mobile
telecommunications technology. It is the upgrade for 2.5G GPRS and 2.75G EDGE
networks, for faster data transfer.

• This is based on a set of standards used for mobile devices and mobile
telecommunications use services and networks that comply with the International
Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) specifications by the International
Telecommunication Union. 3G finds application in wireless voice telephony, mobile
Internet access, fixed wireless Internet access, video calls and mobile TV.
Features of 3G
• More bandwidth
• Security
• Reliability
• Instant messaging
• Always online device
• Rich multimedia
Broadband

Broadband is often called high -speed internet because ts usually have high rate of
data transmission In general any connection to customer of 256mbps or more is
consider as broadband.

Features-
• High speed internet access

• Large bandwidth

• muticasting
Telecommunication Network

The main parts of telecommunication network is given below

1. Telephone exchange.
2. Main distribution frame
3. Power plant.
Telephone Exchange
• Telephone exchange is a telecommunication
system used in the public switched
telephone network.

• An exchange consist of electronic

components that interconnect with telephone
subscriber line or virtual circuits of digital
system to establish telephone calls between
subscribers.

• Type-tandem exchange (TAX).

Main Distribution Frame
The main distribution frame (MDF) is a interface
between the subscriber cable coming from a
local network and switching equipment.

It is divided into two parts.

1. Line side
2. Exchange side
Power Plant
As we know that, the power is the main source of any organization . The first
requirement of any organization is the input. The main source of this exchange is ac
supply.

Features-

Direct supply
It provides -48v to the switch rooms
Contains power generators, batteries etc
Optical Fiber
• Consists of three concentric sections-
Modes Of Propagation
Two main categories that are used in Fiber Optics
communication are-

Single mode Optical Fibers.

 Multi- Mode Optical Fibers.

Single-mode Fiber
Single-mode fiber is a common type of optical fiber that
is used to transmit over longer distances. A single-
mode fiber is a single glass fiber strand used to
transmit a single mode or ray of light.
Multi-Mode Fibers
• Multi-mode optical fiber is a type of optical fiber mostly used for
communication over short distances, such as within a building or on a
campus. Multi-mode links can be used for data rates up to 100 Gbit/s. Multi-
mode fiber has a fairly large core diameter that enables multiple light
modes to be propagated and limits the maximum length of a transmission
link because of modal dispersion. The standard G.651.1 defines the most
widely used forms of multi-mode optical fiber
Advantages of Optical Fibers
• Greater Bandwidth. Copper cables were originally designed for voice
transmission and have a limited bandwidth.
• Faster Speeds. Fiber optic cables have a core that carries light to transmit
data.
• Longer Distances.
• Better Reliability.
• Thinner and Sturdier.
• More Flexibility for the Future.
• Lower Total Cost of Ownership.
Disadvantages
Expensive over short distances

>Very high Installation charges

Adding additional nodes is difficult

Demands high skills

SUMMARY
So we can say that our daily routine is dependent on the
communication technique like that 3G,Broadband and optical fiber
etc.
