Elon Musk as a Teenager
In 1971, Elon Musk was born in South Africa.
He loved books as a teen and frequently spent
hours in libraries. He was also an expert with
computers, learning how to program himself at
the age of 12 and selling his first piece of
software at the age of 17.Elon Musk was a
technical genius, but he was also an ambitious
and original thinker. He was a driven
businessman who, at the age of 19, started a
video game company. His interest in space
exploration led him to write a paper on the
idea of a future space transport system.
 Young Elon Musk's Education
Elon Musk was a talented student who
attended South Africa's prestigious
Waterkloof House Preparatory School.
He eventually relocated to Canada in order
to attend Queen's University, where he
majored in economics and physics.Musk
continued his education at the University
of Pennsylvania, where he received two
bachelor's degrees: one in physics and one
in economics. He then applied to Stanford
University to begin a program in energy
physics but left after just two days to

the age of 19, he established and sold a video game firm
for $300 million. He went on to establish PayPal, an online
payment system that was purchased by eBay for $1.5

2002, and Tesla Motors, an electric car company, in 2004.
He is currently the CEO of both firms and a leader in space
exploration and electric automobiles.
